There was a session on internet applications given by one of the
professors at Old DOminion (he is probably mad since his name has slipped
my mind)... Anyway, people at the session were told about the newsgroup,
as it was in its infancy at the time.
There has been several announcements in all of the major research and
trade journals throughout the spring of this year. From the volume of
posts, I am guessing that the group is growing everyday. My gut feeling
is that there will be WWW pages from almost every manufacturer in the near
future. It just takes time to get every audiologist into using the
internet as a source of information retrieval. It is hard to teach some
folks new tricks...
