Hi Frank!
You might want to start with reading Rudy Probst's review article on
otoacoustic emissions. I have lent mine to someone, so I do not know the
exact citation, I guess it's published in J.Acoust.Soc.Am. There you'll
find a good classification and description of all kinds of otoacoustic
emissions, also known applications like newborn screening are mentioned.
