I think that is this is the message that the Au.D. programs are trying to send out to those who are
developing the standards for the Au.D.
Not only that, " present undergraduate programs in Speech and Hearing will not be preparing people
for admission to these (Doctoral) programs."
But also that that the current UG curricula does not do much for the present masters degree program
in audiology.
Something that I have heard many audiologists and audiology students say is that,
" Phonetics, articulation disorders, and language disorders were a waste of my UG time."
At the Baylor program, 4 year students are required to take A&P and other classes with
the medical students and the lack of basic science in the Au.D. students ug background was
hurting them. This is why Baylor stiffened up their UG req. Ball State is following suit.
