All of our ITE/ITC patients receive a full size toothbrush in the kit we
give to them along with instructions to use the toothbrush (dry) every
night
to brush off all earwax from the hearing aid.
I might suggest that instead of instructing them to use the brush at
night, instruct them to use it in the morning. The wax has had time to
dry overnight and form a crust. They can then flake off the wax when they
brush it. When it is soft, it has a tendency to work into the tube and
then the wax spring is required to do more work. (this is getting petty.)
