I have been diagnosed as having right sided Patulous Eustation tube.
The symptoms are.
Sever distortion in my Right ear when I speak.
Distortion on loud external sounds.
Continually blocked sensation in Right ear.
A nystagmus which is easily produced if I "hum" or speak loudly or on
exposure to very loud external noise.
All above symptoms can be resolved by simply lowering my head or by
tightening my neck muscles.
My Audiologist has told me that there may be a minor surgical solution to
the symptoms, but would not go into any details. He suggested speech
therapy and waiting to see if there is a spontaneous recovery. I have
waited a year with no improvement, and my speech is suffering as well as my
hearing.
Has anyone experience of a surgical solution to this condition, and what
does it involve.
Many thanks, Chris Owen
