Has anyone experienced or know of a reason for a high sensitivity to vocal
sibilants. The esses of speech fairly leap out at me. Noticed first about 6
months back. Ripped my hi-fi system to bits before I realised I was hearing
it face to face. The doc could find nothing mechanically wrong and an
audiogram did show a slight peak at 3kHz in the left ear. Otherwise fairly
normal sensitivity for a 48 year old. I do have an ongoing problem with
blocked eustachians frequently having to manually equalise.
Thoughts and comments appreciated.
