Directional hearing aid

My mother's hearing is not getting better by the years, but she refuses to
wear a hearing aid. Recently at a conference, someone loaned her a
directional hearing of sorts, a little box with a couple of mikes for
directional selectivity, some filters, and finally a headset to wear. She
doesn't know where the guy had bought it, except that it said Micronta or
something on it.
Anybody know what I am talking about? Where can I get it?

					TIA
