I wish to advise that there are two Audiology lecturing positions soon
to be available at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New
Zealand, as described below.
- Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Audiology (Continuing Position) -
The Department of Communication Disorders at the University of
Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand) invites applicants for an
academic appointment to be made at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level
(equivalent to US Assistant Professor or Associate Professor).
Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Audiology and be eligible for
membership in the New Zealand Audiological Society. The preferred
candidate will have specialised knowledge in areas such as
amplification, diagnostic audiology (paediatric and adult), and cochlear
implants. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a
research program in their chosen area of expertise, supervise Masters
level research, and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at both
undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Excellent opportunities for
international research collaborations and generous study leave
opportunities to enhance teaching and research exist within the
Department. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue
until the search is successful, with appointment as early as January 2006.
- Lecturer of Audiology (Continuing Position) -
The Department of Communication Disorders at the University of
Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand) invites applicants for an
academic appointment to be made at the Lecturer level (equivalent to US
Assistant Professor).
Applicants should hold a PhD degree and have at least 3 years of
clinical experience. Applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered
if they are enrolled in a doctoral program and would complete the degree
within two years of start of employment. Applicants are expected to be
eligible for membership in the New Zealand Audiological Society. The
major responsibilities will be to teach Masters-level courses in
audiology in areas of expertise and interest, provide clinical
supervision to Masters students, conduct scholarly research in areas of
interest, and direct Masters student research. Excellent opportunities
for international research collaborations and generous study leave
opportunities to enhance teaching and research exist within the
Department. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue
until the search is successful, with appointment as early as January 2006.
