                    BIRCH Release A1.97

The programs launched by GDE have been redistributed
among four specialized interfaces:

    * GDE - sequence data
    * dGDE - list data
    * mGDE - discrete state data
    * tGDE - phylogenetic tree data

	The four interfaces provide a more organized
framework for point-and-click data pipelining.

Examples:
  - When output from a program is sequence, it appears in a
    new GDE window, allowing additional sequence tasks
    to be run on the output sequences.
  - Tree output is opened in a tGDE window, which can run
    programs that operate on trees.
