Dear Colleagues

I would like to introduce you to the new Virtual School of Biomedical
Sciences. The Virtual School represents a new concept in distance
learning and has been designed for Medical Technologists, Biomedical
Scientists, and Technicians working in clinical laboratories,
universities, and industrial environments worldwide. The Virtual
School of Biomedical Sciences is based at the University of Ulster
which is at the forefront of education in Biomedical Sciences in the
United Kingdom. The University was recently listed as one of the top
UK Universities participating in Biomedical Research by achieving a 5*
grade (the highest possible) in the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise.

The Virtual School is now introducing a Masters degree (as well as a
Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma) in Biomedical Sciences by
distance learning. The courses will offer specialist options in
clinical chemistry, haematology, medical microbiology, and toxicology.

The courses will be available via the Internet, CD-Rom, and
paper/post.
