Are there any Windows XP compatible sequence alignment/editors available as free/shareware?

Hello,

I have just upgraded to Windows XP and have been enjoying its power
immensely....until I decided to get back to some good old sequence
analysis. First I reinstal my download of BioEdit, and find that the
ClustalW multi align facility doesn't work. Then I try using the stand
alone clustal download - doesn't work - it doesn't even allow me to
save in MSF format for use in GeneDoc, which I expect wouldn't work
either.

Does anybody know of freeware programs with of similar power and
versatility as BioEdit that actually works on XP? Unfortunately I'd
rater not go back to NT or 98, and I suspect my departments budget
wouldnt stretch so far as to obtain something like VectorNTI.

I hope someone has some suggestions!

Cheers,

Marc Greener
