BLAST the string at NCBI and look for perfect matches?  I do this every
once in a while to see if my name matches.  So far, no.  Anyone
want to synthesize ANDREWDALKE for me and stick it in the database?  :)

How big is your string?  If too small, the above doesn't work because
it isn't specific enough.  But if it's too small, what's the point?

How much resources can you dedicate to the job?  Because you could
always download the whole database and scan it yourself.
