We're preparing to upgrade the operating system on CSL, the
machine on which the WCS backend runs. We don't have a timetable
set with the techies who do this kind of stuff, but we wanted to let
users know, and to give our users a chance to let us know if there are
any upcoming deadlines or problems that we might be able to work
around.
At this point, the machine will be off line for a 48 hour period, and
we would try to give you at least 48 hours notice before taking it off
line. We are hoping it will be sometime in the next 30 days, but since
we're low on the priority list we may not have an option.
Some of you will have received a personal notice via e-mail
channels -- if we know you're using the system, we've tried to reach
you in that way. You need not respond to this posting if you have
responded to your e-mail. Thanks.
