Dissecting microscopes once again seem to be a topic of discussion. A
friend in the lab next to mine recently was able to negotiate with the
Wild/Leica rep to obtain a new (i.e., not a demo) M3C for the same price as
the scope that Andy Papp sells (approx $2,100 I think). Perhaps they took a
loss on this, or perhaps there is more profit margin built in to
microscopes than one might have expected.
I also should add that I am very happy with my Zeiss Stemi SR on a
"Diagnostic Instruments" base.
