A couple months ago I offered to moderate this newsgroup. About 1/3
of respondents were opposed to the idea, and since I wasn't all that
eager to take on the responsibility, it ended there. The thing to
realize about moderating a newsgroup is this: someone has to do it,
and has to do it regularly and frequently. Until the moderator passes
a message, it won't go out.
I would be opposed to limiting postings to subscribers only. I am not
a subscriber, although I read bionet.celegans every day through USENET
and WWW.
