RTF submission to the WBG

The experiment in parallel e-mail submission for the upcoming issue of
the Worm Breeder's Gazette worked fairly well: 36/83 articles (43%)
submitted on paper were also submitted by e-mail, and are consequently
available over the Internet and searchable months earlier than they
would otherwise have been. I am sufficiently encouraged to extend the
experiment. Beginning immediately, WBG abstracts may also be
submitted in Microsoft "Rich Text Format", RTF. RTF Abstracts may
include complex formatting, graphics, etc. I hope to reproduce these
fairly accurately on the C elegans WWW server
(http://eatworms.swmed.edu/). In addition, the RTF file itself will
be available via the WWW.

This service is available now for WBG 13(5). RTF abstracts may be
submitted by e-mail to WBG-RTF at EATWORMS.SWMED.EDU. (This address may
change in future.) Note that this is in addition to normal
submission: your abstract must already have been mailed to the CGC.

Please follow these guidelines:

(1) The abstract should be in Microsft Rich Text Format, also called
RTF, or sometimes "Interchange Format". Most word processors can
save documents in RTF -- check the "Save As..." item in the "File"
menu. RTF files are text and can be inserted directly in an
e-mail message. You may also send the RTF file as an `attachment'
or `enclosure', if your mailer has that capability.

(2) The subject of your message should be "WBG abstract" (without the
    quotes).

You will receive an e-mail message acknowledging your submission. The
acknowledgement will include the full RTF abstract as it was
received. Messages sent to WBG-RTF will be processed by the
computer, so please don't include a cover note. If you need personal
attention, send a separate message to LEON at EATWORMS.SWMED.EDU.
