I'm curious to hear from anyone who has used Nomarski scopes both from
Zeiss and any other make--how are the optics and handling on Nikon,
Olympus or other scopes, and how do they hold up under heavy use?
After the recent discussion on micromanipulators, and after reading
about Leon's alternative laser focusing setup, I thought it would be
useful to compile similar information for other expensive worm-specific
equipment items (especially since I'm shopping for startup right now
:). This could include a discussion of the pros and cons of various
makes & models, and also suggestions for improving performance and/or
reducing cost.
If you would like to contribute, send me your comments, and I'll post
the compiled replies and also put them on the Web. Let us know what
you like, or don't like, about an item, or ways to make it better or
less expensive. Items to discuss could include scopes, microinjectors,
needle pullers, laser accessories, incubators, dispensing pump for
plate pouring, liq. nitrogen storage systems...
(I'll be out of town from 7/27-8/3, so mail to me won't get answered
during that time)
