There are several argument for and against the annual World Worm Meetings.
It would be excellent to meet once a year but we, Europeans, (especially we,
Central-Eastern Europeans, who are living countries of extremely harsh
economic pressures (in order to belong really to the Western World) cannot
afford to travel every years to the United States, even if we loved to.
Even for the biannual meetings we always need the generous financial support
from the organizers, if we wanted to bring our students.
I think the wise compromise would be to held World Worm Meetings annually,
to organize a meeting in Hungary either in 1996 or 1998.
I am sure that lots of Americans could not attand the European Meetings, and
lots of Europeans could not attand the US-located onces. Still, I believe,
that the top scientists of our communities could meet once a year, and the
poorer could collect money for oversea meetings during two years.
I hope Japonese and Australian colleauges will not oppose...
Of course, the "local" meetings in the USA and Europe may exists further.
