We are working on the populations dynamics of C. elegans, and are
looking for strains that have different life histories from N2; for example,
a longer or shorter maturation period (from egg to adult), a longer or shorter
average lifespan, an altered reproductive schedule, a larger proportion of
males (I imagine we'd want 'him' mutants here), etc. We already have dauer-
deficient strains daf-3 & 12. Since we're brand new to the worm world, any
suggestions would be appreciated.
