I have a couple students interested in learning about worms. I
started them off by asking them to make some whole mounts and then
perhaps make some whole mounts of developing embryos. Are there any
good protocols for these procedures?? We did some today on a trial
basis. Got some nice worms using Borax-Carmine stain although I
think the stain should have been re-filtered before use. What stains
do you use?? I used Carnoy's for a fixative to which I added a drop
of picric acid to give the worm "color".
Anybody out there have any other ideas????
