Anesthetize to see GFP

I was wondering if people had a different way to anesthetize worms to
view GFP and be able to recover the worms. As is known, sodium azide
quenches GFP fluorescence. I have been using 1% formaldehyde which works
well but which doesn't allow for the recovery of the worms. At this
point, I would like to laser ablate some cells that are marked by GFP, and
recover the worms; ergo the dilemna. I have heard that ethanol works?
Please address any answers to my account if possible and I will later
on post a summary of what is available.
