The web version of the Worm Systematics Resource Network is now in a fairly
functional state. The WSRN is a database for strain collections of a
growing variety of nematode species that can be used in comparative
biological studies. The WSRN database centralizes and standardizes
information for all of these strains.
Although the WSRN contains information about some of the strains that the
CGC maintains, wild type C. elegans strains are not represented at the
moment (although we hope to include them in the future). Although most of
the strains listed in the WSRN are not presently maintained by the CGC,
they can be obtained from the labs listed. Many more links will also be
established over the next few months.
I encourage everyone to use it and to send us suggestions for improvement
and reports of typos and bugs. Please read the "important notes and
acknowledgements" when you use the database for the first time.
Also, I still have some hard copies of the WSRN for those who are interested.
