Postdoctoral Position in C. elegans behavioral research
A postdoctoral position is available immediately for at least two years.
We study a regulatory mechanism of synaptic vesicle release and neural
control of periodic muscle contractions in C. elegans. Our current focus
is to identify and characterize genes that interact with a Rab3 GTP
nucleotide exchange factor using genetic and molecular approaches.
Salary and benefits are competitive to other postdoctoral positions in
Japan. Strong communication skills in either English or Japanese are
necessary. However, Japanese skills are not required. Non-Japanese
Nationals are particularly encouraged to apply.
Our institute provides top-quality facilities and is located in the
City of Tsukuba, which is also called the Science City and has many
national and private research institutes. Tsukuba is a small-size city
but is only 40 miles away from downtown Tokyo.
