*Call for Abstracts*
New England Molecular Evolutionary Biologists (NEMEB)
Annual Meeting
http://www.nyu.edu/projects/fitch/NEMEB/
Deadline for Registration (no fee) and Abstracts: Sept. 25

This year's NEMEB meeting will be held Saturday, October 31 (Halloween)
1998, at New York University. This one-day conference will involve
presentations in the form of invited and contributed talks and posters.
You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation as a talk or a
poster; we will select abstracts to be presented as contributed talks from
those received before the deadline (September 25).

There will be 3 main plenary sessions on Molecular Systematics and
Evolution, Molecular Adaptation, and Evolution of Development. When
submitting an abstract for a talk, please designate for which session you
feel your talk would be most suitable. We hope to "publish" all abstracts on
our web site and/or in an abstract book. There are only a few slots
available for talks. Abstracts NOT selected for talks will be assumed to
be presented as posters, unless you designated the abstract as a "Talk
only--NOT a poster" (in which case the abstract will still be "published",
but not presented).

Please submit your abstract AND REGISTER using the forms on our web site:

http://www.nyu.edu/projects/fitch/NEMEB/

After the deadline (SEPTEMBER 25), we will publish the abstracts at the web
site so you can view them before the meeting.

If you plan to attend, *whether or not you plan to present*, please
REGISTER using the web site (so we know for how many to cater and so we can
update our NEMEB database!).

The web site will be updated every 2 weeks, so please check it for new
information. (Although the date and place will not change, the schedule of
events might.) Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Please PASS THIS NOTICE ON to others who might be interested
in attending! See you there!

The organizers:
David Fitch (df3 at acf2.nyu.edu)
Todd Disotell (todd.disotell at nyu.edu)
Rob DeSalle (desalle at amnh.org)
