School of Biological Sciences University of East Anglia, NORWICH, UK.

Applications are invited for this permanent post in the School of Biological
Sciences at the University of East Anglia, from those with a strong research
programme in eukaryotic development. The appointee will play a key role in
recruiting two lecturers in developmental biology.

The School of Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia (Grade 5
in the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise), occupies a unique position at the
heart of the Norwich Research Park (NRP). Embracing the John Innes Centre
(including the Sainsbury, Cambridge, and Nitrogen Fixation Laboratories) and
the Institute of Food Research, the NRP comprises the largest concentration
of molecular biologists in Western Europe. Building on an adjacent site has
started on the new Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, one of the largest new
hospitals in the country. This will provide further opportunities for the
enhancement of the School's research and teaching profile across the range
of its activities.

The post is available from 1 January 1999. Salary for the post will be
negotiable within the Professorial salary range, plus USS benefits. Further
