GROUP LEADER POSITION in SWEDEN

The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (Stiftelsen för strategisk
forskning) was established in 1994 and obtained 10 billion SEK earmarked
for research. The primary goal of the Foundation is to improve the
scientific and technological competence in Sweden in areas of relevance
for Sweden´s competitiveness. The research should be of the highest
international standing.


In 1998, two new Senior Scientists (Drs. Udo Häcker and Johan Ericson,
working on Drosophila and chick, respectively) were recruited, and the
Developmental Biology Programme of the Foundation seeks now to appoint a
third



SENIOR SCIENTIST  (GROUP LEADER)

in the area of DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY of CAENORHABDITIS ELEGANS



The candidate will be given 1.6 million SEK/year for five years. This
amount should enable him/her to form a group consisting for example of a
PostDoc, a PhD student, a technician and also provide running money for
the laboratory.

Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. The candidate can
freely choose to work within the University in Sweden which best suits
the candidate's research interests. The candidate is also encouraged to
apply for grants from all Swedish Grant Foundations.

Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD degree, at least two years of
postdoctoral experience, and a proven record of high quality research.
Candidates are expected to develop strong, independent research
programs.
