POSTDOCTORAL POSITION on a newly-funded NSF grant available after
October 1st to study germline development in C. elegans. We have
recently shown by RNAi (Kuznicki et al Development127(13) July 2000)
that the combination of loss of P granule components glh-1 and glh-4
causes complete sterility in the F1 generation. We are currently
screening for a glh-4 deletion strain, with glh-1-3 mutants already
generated. We are looking for an individual with experience working
with C. elegans to continue genetic studies of the mutants. We are also
interested in an individual to carry on biochemical studies, including
analyses of several potential interacting proteins found in a recent
two-hybrid screen. The University of Missouri is located in Columbia
MO, a small college town that is consistently in the top ten places to
live, as determined by MONEY magazine. If interested in discussing
this position further, please contact me, Dr. Karen Bennett by email, by
mail at M607 MedSciBldg. University of Missouri, Columbia, MO 65203 or
by telephone 573/882-8994.
