Postdoctoral Position at Novartis
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Novartis Agribusiness Biotechnology Research, Inc., a division of Novartis, the
world's leading life sciences company, (www.novartis.com) seeks a postdoctoral
fellow to join a research group whose goal is to develop and apply genetic and
functional genomic technology leading to the discovery of novel targets for the
control of insect pests and nematodes. The successful candidate will perform
genetic analysis on the model nematode C. elegans using both forward and
reverse
genetic approaches. A Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, or related
discipline is required. Candidates should have a strong background in
molecular
genetics and be familiar with the model system C. elegans.

The project will function within the dynamic environment of our
state-of-the-art
Biotechnology Research Center, which provides high-throughput DNA sequencing,
arraying, and bioinformatics support as well as a collegial environment
comprising project teams from Novartis Animal Health, Seeds biotechnology and
Pharmaceutical sectors. Novartis encourages scientific publication.

We are located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, well known as The

between three research universities - Duke University in Durham, the University
of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University in
Raleigh.
The candidate will join a growing and exciting community of C. elegans and
Drosophila researchers in the area. The Triangle is consistently ranked as one
of the best places to live in the United States.
