Postdoctoral Positions:
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately to investigate (1)
cell-cycle regulation and (2) signal transduction mediated by serpentine
membrane receptors using the model organism C. elegans. These projects will
focus on studying homologues of genes with roles in vertebrate development
and disease. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong
background in molecular biology and a familiarity with C. elegans biology
and/or to those with previous research experience in growth control or
signal transduction. Applicants with prior postdoctoral experience are also
invited to apply.
Research Assistant:
A position is available to participate in a research programme using the
nematode C. elegans as a model organism to study genes controlling
development. Specific techniques to be employed include PCR amplification,
DNA cloning, purification of nucleic acids, microinjection, microscopy and
genetic analysis. Duties will also include general laboratory management
and record keeping. Applicants should possess a degree in Biology or a
related subject. Preference will be given to candidates with previous
research experience in C. elegans and a background in molecular biology or
genetic analyses.
To apply, please write with your CV, daytime telephone number, email
address, current salary details, and names and addresses of 2-3 references
