I seem to recall that somebody out there made a stable transformant
line with roller/cosmids having a 50% loss rate, mutagenized the line
with EMS, and then screened for F3 clones whose rate of retention had gone
up to 100% (because a homozygous lethal mutation was only surviving if
the cosmid was retained).
Did this really happen and can somebody give me a reference for it?
I've searched elegans.swmed.edu without luck but do remember hearing at
least a rumor about this screen. Thanks in advance for any solid
information.
