Dear C. elegans community:
I would like to subject my worms to a starvation treatment. From the
references that I have read, a NG solution has been used in the past for
this sort of treatment. I have found recipes for a S basal and S
complete solution. I was wondering if the S basal solution can be used
to support the worms for a short period (6hrs) during the starvation
(just S basal) and control treatments (S basal plus ~.5 g of live e.
coli) for my experiment. If it is inadvisable to use just S basal alone,
do you know of any commercial distributor of S complete or any of its
constituents in a premixed form.
