POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE available immediately
to study the neuronal basis of behavior via neural network models of
chemotaxis in the nematode worm C. elegans. Realistic computer models of
the chemotaxis network, constrained by anatomical and electrophysiological
data, will be optimized by neural network training algorithms to reproduce
chemotaxis behavior of real worms. Models will be tested by comparing the
effects of killing the same neurons in the model and biological networks.
Previous training in computational neuroscience, electrophysiology,
computer science, dynamical systems, mathematics, or physics helpful. CV
and cover letter by 1 June 2001 to Dr. S.R. Lockery, job at lox.uoregon.edu
or Institute of Neuroscience, 1254 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403.
