Hi,
In WormBase we are slowly starting to clean-up some of these optional
allele suffixes. This is because we have realised that in some cases we
were having two separate Allele objects in our database with different
amounts of associated information, but both Alleles were the same thing
In this case we would make 'e995xri' an 'Other name' for 'e995'.
Users of WormBase will not notice any change, you can still search for
either name from the WormBase front page, but behind the scenes things
should be getting clearer with less possibility of confusion.
Regards,
Keith
