Aventis Pharma, in partnership with the European Commission, is
offering:
Two Marie Curie Industry Host Fellowships
The research will be conducted at the Aventis Center for Functional
Genomics (ACFG) in the prime biotech environment of Martinsried,
Germany.
Description:
The successful candidate will work in the area of functional genomics
and proteomics of protein kinases. By using genetically-tractable model
organisms, such as yeast and primarily C. elegans, kinase signaling
networks will be investigated and advanced to target validation and
assay development.
Requirements:
We are looking to recruit highly motivated scientists who share our
interest in using functional genomics and model organisms to identify
new drug targets and develop innovative assay systems for target
validation and HTS of Aventis' growing compound libraries. The ideal
candidate will have experience with molecular biology and biochemistry.
Experience with eukaryotic genetics would be a plus. Fluency in English
is required. To be eligible, the candidate must be a citizen of an EC
country (other than Germany).
Training environment:
The ACFG, one of Aventis Pharma's three genomics centers, provides 2800
sq. meters of new laboratory space devoted to research utilizing a broad
range of target discovery and validation and assay development
technologies. The ACFG offers postdocs not only the opportunity to learn
state-of-the-art technologies in functional genomics and proteomics, but
also provides access to extensive resources in lead generation
(biotechnology, chemistry and HTS) and strategic alliances with academic
and biotech partners in Europe and North America. Postdoctoral fellows
are encouraged to present their work at scientific meetings and publish
in internationally recognized journals.
