Postdoctoral Research Assistant and Postgraduate Studentship
University of Bristol, UK
A postdoctoral research assistant position is available for three
years to work in the School of Biological Sciences on a NERC
Environmental Genomics thematic programme grant to use QTL mapping to
investigate the molecular and genetic basis of variation in the
phenotypic plasticity of C. elegans dauer larva formation. This post
will be supported by a half-time Research Technician (TGD). Expertise
in any or all of C. elegans genetics, quantitative genetics or
microarray analysis would be an advantage, but is not essential. A
NERC PhD studentship is also available (funded by the same grant) and
will use whole-genome microarray analysis to complement the QTL
mapping and to investigate the fitness consequences of variation in
dauer larva formation. The position will be held at the standard NERC
stipend and is for three years. Informal enquiries regarding both
positions and applications for the studentship position should be
made to Mark.Viney at bristol.ac.uk and further information is available
at www.bio.bris.ac.uk/research/nematode/index.html
