Postdoctoral Position to study cell cycle regulation
A postdoctoral position is available to study cell cycle regulation by
cullin ubiquitin ligases. In C. elegans, cullin-dependent ligases
regulate multiple aspects of the cell cycle, including chromatin
condensation, the G1-to-S phase transition, meiosis, and DNA
replication (see Zhong et al., 2003, Nature 423: 885; and Feng et al.,
1999, Nat Cell Biol 1: 486). Available projects employ genetic,
biochemical, and cell biological approaches to elucidate the molecular
functions of the CUL-2 and CUL-4 ubiquitin ligase complexes during
development. The position will be funded by an NIH grant. Background
in molecular biology is required and experience with a genetic system
