Lawrence University announces the establishment of a new postdoctoral=20
program, the Lawrence Fellows, designed for recent Ph.D.=92s who seek to=20=
develop a record of excellence in teaching and research experience in a=20=
liberal arts college setting. Three appointments as Lawrence Fellows=20
will be offered on a competitive basis for academic year 2005-06.=20
Initial appointments will be for 2 years and will involve a reduced=20
teaching load in order for Lawrence Fellows to have time to engage in=20
tutorials and research projects with undergraduate students. Lawrence=20
also encourages mentoring relationships and teaching and research=20
collaborations between Fellows and faculty. These full-time fellowships=20=
will carry a stipend of $32,000-$36,000 per year, plus benefits, and a=20=
$5000 program fund to support research, travel, and other initiatives.
Biologists in any area of specialty will receive serious consideration.=20=
PhD is required. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute=20=
to the introductory biology course, supervise collaborative=20
undergraduate research, and develop no more than two upper level=20
courses in the candidate=92s area of expertise. Lawrence University=20
