Two postdoctoral positions immediately available
in Christian Neri laboratory, Paris, France
Position 1 (3 years) : Neurodegenerative disease pathogenesis
The research focus is on inherited forms of neurodegenerative disease
(notably Huntingtons disease). Research will be primarily based on
cultures of mouse neurons and human molecular genetics. Research will
benefit from the knowledge available on cell survival modulators as
generated in the laboratory using C. elegans genetics. Previous
experience in mammalian neurobiology and physiology is mandatory. An
excellent background in molecular biology is required. Previous
experience in invertebrate genetics will be a plus. There is no
restriction on the citizenship of applicants.
Position 2 (3 years) : Therapy of neuromuscular diseases
The research focus is on inherited forms of muscular dystrophies.
Research will be primarily based on the construction and
characterization of new models of disease protein cytotoxicity, and
their use to identify active compounds and their targets. Research may
also involve the use of mammalian cell models. A strong experience in C.
elegans genetics is mandatory. An excellent background in molecular
biology is required. A strong interest in drug discovery and
degenerative diseases is desirable. There is no restriction on the
citizenship of applicants.
