Mystery Sound Underwater

I watched a show on The Discovery Channel called Creatures of the Abyss and
heard them play a recording of some large unknown creature that emitted a
really weird sound underwater. The funny part was that they said it came
from an area in the S Pacific ocean that was near nada. Anybody know
anything more on it?
