I am searching for information regarding the release of brine from a
desalinization plant. The plant will release 10% brine solution at
approximately 1500-1700 feet. Assuming that there are no geothermal
vents in the vicinity, could there be any significant impacts on any
deep sea life present in the area? Will there be much life at that
depth? Also, could there be any other environmental impacts from the
release of the brine? The plants designers claim that the salinity of
the sea water will be normal outside a 5 meter radius. I would
appreciate any info or feedback on the subject.
