SOCIETY FOR CONSERVATION BIOLOGY
1997 ANNUAL MEETING
June 6 - 9, 1997
Victoria, BC, Canada
The conference will bring together 500 presenters focusing on both special
session topics and contributed papers. Topics range from almost the
smallest particles of life in the molecular -biology -sessions, to the
largest life forms in the whale sessions, and from the theoretical
-architecture of the life sciences to the subtleties of gaining conservation
perspectives across cultural boundaries. The pivotal argument of conserving
nature binds these topics together, creating a powerful and resonant summons.
A central theme for the conference is marine conservation biology, but we
hope to promote this theme through a dialogue in which conservation
scientists from a broad range of backgrounds can proffer their expertise and
creativity to support the evolution of this important conservation task.
Early delegate registration deadline is April 15, 1997.
