Dear list member

Redfish (deep ocean perch) were tagged underwater recently, using a newly
developed Underwater Tagging Equipment. The tagging was performed off the
coasts of Iceland, in the North Atlantic Ocean. The fish was tagged
underwater in its natural environment using the Underwater Tagging
Equipment. This equipment has enabled scientists to tag deepwater fish
species that do not survive being surfaced. The Underwater Tagging
Equipment operates inside the fishing trawl. Fish is gathered into the
trawl, tagged by the equipment, and released. The marine
biologist/scientist controls the equipment sitting at his computer and
visualizes the tagging of the fish via the underwater video camera installed
in the tagging equipment. Not only will the equipment enable scientists to
learn more about deepwater species, but will also increase the efficiency of
fish tagging. For further information, please visit

Thanks and best regards
