Fisheries biologist

Sorry to post this here, but I wasn't sure where I could find the
answer.  I
would like to become a fisheries biologist for freshwater species.  I
was
wondering if there was a newsgroup for that subject.  I cannot seem to
find
one, but I figured someone from here might know.
