An unidentified beaked whale stranded in Kagoshima
LATEST UPDATE (2002.10.03)
Preparation of the skull of the 6.5 m beaked whale found stranded in
Kagoshima-ken (Prefecture) on the 26th of July is completed. Tentative
identification based on skull morphology is described here.

Result
Based on skull morphology the whale in question is identified as Longman's
beaked whale.

Does anyone know if this might be responsible for reports of the
unclassified "Species A"?
