Hi everyone,

I am finding a detergent which will solubilize human serum lipoprotein
in nitrocellulose membrane. I have already tried various detergents from
non-ionic to ionic detergents which include triton X-100, Brij 35 and
sodium deoxycholate etc.... These detergents work well in solution,
however it does not work well in NC membrane. I found that the detergent
micelles distributed unevenly in NC membrane and it could be due to the
micelles were precipitated out in NC membrane or the lipoprotein was
incompletely solubilized by the detergent in NC membrane. Therefore the
micelles concentration over the entire NC membrane is different and
inconsistence. Can anyone help ? All advice or idea is all welcomed.
Please reply to my e-mail alexis at cuhk.edu.hk

With many thanks

Alexis
