Duties: Analyse pathology samples in a section of the Pathology
Department of the Royal Darwin Hospital as required to provide a
comprehensive diagnostic service to the medical staff and other users of
the Pathology Service throughout the NT. Provide up to date advice on
procedures and interpretation of the results to medical and nursing
staff.
Selection Criteria: Essential: Certificate or Diploma in Science or
Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
qualification. Several years relevant experience in working in a
multi-skilled environment preferably with demonstrated expertise in one
of the disciplines of pathology will be well regarded. Experience of
having worked on an emergency after hours roster in all areas of
pathology is highly desirable as is the ability to work solo in a busy
environment. The successful applicant for this position will initially
be working in the microbiology section of the pathology department.
Note: Applicants must be prepared to undertake duties as required in
other Northern Territory Public Hospital laboratories and must be
willing to take part in out of hours and weekend shift work on rostered
