FACULTY POSITION: PLANT PHYSIOLOGICAL ECOLOGY (USA)
California State University, Bakersfield has a tenure-track opening
for an Assistant Professor in Plant Physiological Ecology. The
position will start on September 1, 1996. Selection for the job begins
on November 30, 1995 and will continue until the position is filled.
The salary range for the position is US$32,712-$39,360.
Qualifications for the job include: a Ph.D. in biological sciences
with emphasis in a physiological approach to plant ecology; ability to
develop and teach courses in related areas of expertise; expertise in
statistical analyses of biological data sufficient to teach an
undergraduate core course in experimental design; evidence of
potential to conduct reviewable research in the area of
specialization; commitment to a quality undergraduate liberal arts
education in a biology program which emphasizes student research
projects involving problem solving, data analysis, and writing.
Responsibilities include: Teaching courses in introductory botany,
plant physiology and general ecology (non-major); teaching an
experimental design core course; teaching upper division course(s) in
area of specialization; general student advising; supervising student
research projects; engaging in reviewable research and scholarly
activities in the field of specialization; and providing
professionally related service to the university and community.
