Position:			Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology
Starting:			January 9, 1998
Deadline for Application:	December 15, 1997

Qualifications:	1) Ph.D. in Biology
		2) Experience in College Teaching
		3) Broad training in biological sciences and willingness to
design interdisciplinary
		    science classes suitable for all students is highly
desirable.

Assignment:	Successful appointee will teach general biology, work on
general education reform,
		and teach biological science to non-majors.

Compensation and
Fringe Benefits:	The salary for this faculty position is from
$32,213-45,260 for the academic year,
		depending on qualifications and experience.  Benefits
include liberal TIAA-CREF or
		Virgin Islands Government retirement plan, and a
comprehensive group medical and
		dental insurance program.

Travel and Shipping
Allowance:	If applicable, economy jet fare to St. Thomas for the
appointee and immediate family
		and a shipping allowance of up to 1,250 will be paid by the
University upon
		presentation of receipts.
