Postdoc in Canopy Ecophysiology

Announcement: Two-year postdoctoral position in tropical canopy
ecophysiology.

The applicant must have a recent PhD in plant ecology, plant
ecophysiology, tree physiology, or forestry. Statistical, computing, and
technical skills with gas exchange equipment are essential. Fluency in
Spanish is desirable, but not essential. Fluency and proven ability to
publish in English language journals is required, but inidividuals of
any nationality will be considered.  Salary is competitive and the
successful applicant must be willing to live in Panama in housing at the
Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. The project will include large
scale experimental manipulation of the environmental determinants of
canopy gas exchange and productivity.  Access to the canopy is
accomplished with two industrial freestanding cranes located in wet and
dry forests, respectively.  Closing date is 20 February with starting
