Greetings GenBank Users,
The GenPept companion file of protein translations for
GenBank Release 117.0:
ftp://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank/genpept.fsa.Z
was apparently corrupted during its installation on
NCBI's ftp site. Attempts to uncompress the file would
have resulted in an error like this:
uncompress: corrupt input
The file was re-installed on May 8 at 11:45AM EDT, and
we've confirmed that it now uncompresses properly. If
you obtained genpept.fsa last week you should re-transfer
the file.
We would like to thank the several users who alerted us
to the corrupted file. The scrutiny of the database
provided by GenBank users is greatly appreciated by NCBI.
